GRADUATE TECHNOLOGY MARKET RESEARCHER

Innovation Observatory has been supporting clients with technology market research for over 15 years. We are a small, friendly company with a passion for delivering high quality market insight. We are looking for someone who loves researching new technologies or industries, and who is capable of creating authoritative reports on the status of global technology markets.

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting (or, subject to experience, taking project management responsibility on) a key account.
  • Undertaking technology-focused market research (Internet, email and telephone/Zoom research).
  • Maintaining technology-focused information databases (initially on mobile communications technologies).
  • Analysing and interpreting the data collected therein.
  • Clearly communicating market trends and insights from your research in reports and presentation materials.
  • Presenting your findings to an audience in online web seminars.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be someone:

  • Capable of working under their own initiative.
  • Curious, and able to think clearly, and creatively.
  • With a strong 'can do’ mentality.
  • Highly motivated.
  • Happy to engage with, and able to ask pertinent questions of senior industry executives.
  • Driven by detail, the need for accuracy and getting things right first time.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Strong ability with Microsoft 365 software, including Excel.

Job type: Full-time or part-time considered. One-year initial contract.

Salary: £25,000 to £35,000 depending on experience and qualifications (pro rata for part-time role).

Annual leave: 28 days including bank holidays (pro rata for part-time hours).

Education: Batchelor’s degree

Experience: Previous experience in researching technology markets ideal. Some project management experience ideal. You don’t need to demonstrate deep insight of mobile communications technologies – but you do need to convince us of your ability to get up to speed quickly.
