Simon SherringtonSimon Sherrington (Founder) has over 15 years' experience in consultancy, market and company analysis, forecasting, data collection, benchmarking, event moderation, and primary research, including interviewing and survey design and interpretation. He has a deep knowledge of fast-moving areas of commerce and industry, in particular the information and communications technology sector and has undertaken over 50 customised research and consultancy projects for clients including blue-chip companies from the telecoms service provision and manufacturing markets, government departments and regulators. Simon, a law graduate, is also an experienced presenter, event moderator and workshop facilitator. He set up the custom research business of Analysys Research, an internationally respected strategy consultancy and analyst house specialising in telecoms and new media, and has also written over 30 reports analysing various aspects of the telecoms, IT and media industry.
Danny DicksDanny Dicks (Principal Consultant) is a graduate physicist who began his career editing and indexing multi-volume engineering encyclopaedias and spent 13 years as a marketing communications consultant for public utilities, small private technology companies and large multinational corporations, in fields as diverse as water, waste and electricity supply, non-destructive testing, and telecommunications products and services. During 10 years as an industry analyst, market research and business consultant in telecoms / IT, green technology and healthcare, Danny has directed research and authored industry reports on telecoms service and software markets and has undertaken over 80 single-client assignments. He is expert in design and management of business and consumer market research, qualitative and quantitative data analysis and interpretation. Stephen Connell has been a director of market research agencies and consultancies since 1984 and has wide experience of managing continuous and ad hoc research – a both qualitative and quantitative – for companies including BT, Nokia, the European Space Agency and the Commission of the European Communities. His interviewing and project management experience spans European, North American, SE Asian and Australasian markets. Stephen is widely respected in the market research industry: he has wide lecturing and public speaking experience and has written more than 50 journal articles and conference contributions. Stephen has worked closely with the directors of Innovation Observatory for many years. He has a degree in natural sciences from the University of Cambridge. David Martin is an experienced researcher, analyst and writer specialising in technology industries. He studied modern languages at Cambridge University and has worked extensively for telecoms research company Analysys Research, for which he has authored and co-authored a number of reports and contributions to Analysys Research’s online services covering telecoms IT (OSS and BSS) and global fixed and mobile telecoms. David has also produced reports for senior executives on the media performance of major telecoms and electronics corporations and has written on green regulations and technology issues. Dr Terence Prospero specialises in primary and desk research and has worked on a wide variety of projects for telecoms companies, hardware and software vendors, and regulators. He was part of the Custom Research team at Analysys Research for six years. He has particular interests in mobile retail strategies and services, especially in developing markets, and the alignment of intelligence systems with business structure in telecoms operators. Terence previously worked in biological science in the private sector and universities and research institutes and has a PhD in biochemistry. Jonathan Tee has over ten years' experience of helping clients to understand how emerging trends in the telecoms and IT sectors might impact upon their businesses and to formulate and test recommendations as to appropriate strategic responses. Highly experienced in building forecast models he is skilled at bringing together a combination of rigorous quantitative and structured qualitative analysis to help clients understand the scale, scope and implications of new market opportunities. He brings a broad perspective to bear that encompasses both wider trends in consumer and business product and service demand and their impact upon the business models of telecoms-sector companies as well as a strong understanding of technological, regulatory and commercial developments within the telecoms and IT industries. Jonathan has led many projects for major telecoms operators and large corporate telecoms users and authored a number of reports. He holds an MSc in Economics. Catherine Viola has over ten years' experience within the research house/consultancy environment. She has written extensively for Innovation Observatory in the area of green energy and smart grids and was co-author of the Innovation Observatory reports Assessing the Smart Grid Opportunity and Meeting the Challenges of Smart Grid Charging and Billing. As an analyst at telecoms research house/consultancy, Analysys Mason, she specialised in research related to wireless network technologies and spectrum.
